Founded by Matthew Faulkner, a seasoned insurance professional with over two decades of experience, we bring unmatched expertise and insight to the table.
Matthew began his career in insurance broking, spending 8 years advising businesses and individuals on how to best protect their livelihoods. This early hands-on experience built the foundations of his client-first approach and provided a deep understanding of the real-world challenges faced by SMEs and trades.
Matthew then spent more than 14 years in senior leadership roles with some of Australia’s largest insurers, including Allianz and Hollard, where he specialised in broker distribution and national partnerships. This unique combination of broking and insurer leadership gives Everclear a rare perspective — we know how the market works from both sides, and how to get the best outcomes for our clients.
Matthew holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking), is a Senior Associate of ANZIIF, and is recognised as a Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) — formal credentials that back up decades of practical experience.

Insurance brokers by default work for you and not the Insurer, so why are they paid by the Insurer?
At Everclear, we elect not to take commissions from insurers. Instead, we use a transparent fee-for-service model. This means you know exactly what you’re paying for — with no hidden charges.
The value we provide is represented by our fee, not hidden in a pre-negotiated commission amount we receive from an insurer. Our zero-commission model removes any potential for conflict of interest when arranging Insurance on your behalf
Commissions payable for Business Insurance from large insurers can range from 20% to 26.5%. This is built into the base premium. By us electing not to receive commission, your base premium will reduce by the commission percentage. As stamp duty and emergency services levies are calculated as a percentage of the base premium, these will generally reduce accordingly.
Our fee will represent the value that we provide. This fee is fully disclosed, transparent and not hidden in the base premium. Taxes payable on our Fee are GST only.

Despite being remunerated by large commission amounts, brokers generally charge an additional Broker Fee to cover their administration costs. At Everclear we do not charge additional administration fees on top of our advice fee which is in lieu of commission.

Yes. Everclear can arrange cover for your home, contents, and private motor vehicles. Through our broker network, we often have access to products that provide higher levels of protection and broader policy benefits than what is typically available in the direct market.
There’s also real value in having a broker on your side at claim time — we act as your advocate, ensuring the process is handled fairly and with minimal stress.
That said, if during our discussions we identify that price is the number one priority, we’ll be upfront and may recommend a direct market option that could be more cost-effective. Our role is to give you clear, honest advice so you can make the best decision for your circumstances.
